CNN: “Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired former FBI
Deputy Director Andrew McCabe late Friday, less than two days shy of his
retirement…McCabe said his firing is part of a larger effort to discredit the
FBI and the special counsel’s investigation.”
BBC News: “Ex-FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe has given
memos about conversations he had with President Donald Trump to an inquiry into
alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 election.”
The New Yorker: “McCabe was fired because he is a
crucial witness in the investigation led by Robert Mueller…when McCabe
testifies against Trump, he will now be dismissed by the President’s supporters
as an ex-employee embittered by his firing.”
