Trump-Russia Investigation. The Week in Review. 3/31/18.
CNN: “Robert Mueller’s team…wanted former Trump campaign
deputy Rick Gates’ help…investigating the Trump campaign’s contact with the
Russians…Mueller’s team alleges that Gates was in contact with a close
colleague of Manafort’s who worked for a Russian intelligence agency—and that
Gates knew of the spy service ties in September and October 2016, while he
worked on the Trump campaign.”
The Atlantic: “Why is Trump Turning Against the
Russians Now?...The question about collusion is no longer whether Trump
officials had untoward contacts with Russians—two have already pleaded guilty
to concealing meetings with Russians from the FBI…but the scale of the
collusion, and whether Trump himself was involved.”

Politico: “When Trump lashed out against Robert Mueller by
name earlier this month, the president’s supporters sprang into action—treating
the chief Russia investigator to political campaign-style opposition research…It
looks like the beginnings of a campaign…if the president determines he wants to
fire Mueller, he’s going to want to make sure there’s ample public record that
he can fall back on.”
Vox: “Paul Manafort, the former chair of Donald Trump’s
presidential campaign, had a long professional relationship with a man
connected to Russian intelligence. And special counsel Robert Mueller says that
man, Konstantin Kilimink, was still working with Russian intelligence in 2016,
when Trump was running for president.”
Washington Post: “The web of connections between Trump
and Putin, visualized."
The Hill: “A former Fox News contributor is accusing the
network of deliberately keeping him away from segments on Russia because he
wouldn’t unconditionally support President Trump. Retired Lt. Col. Ralph Peters…asserted
that the network “preaches paranoia, attacking processes and institutions vital
to our republic and challenging the rule of law.”
